Procurement Policy Statement

PARIA is a state-owned company in the business of fuel trading, supply and logistics that includes storage, terminalling, bunkering, and droghing, to the country and the region.

In pursuit of our fuel security mandates, Paria is guided by the socio-economic goals set out in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Property Act, the Integrity in Public Life Act, the TPHL Code of Conduct and suite of policies (ABCF, COI, G&E, W/B), and by our safety and contractor management policies.

PARIA is committed to sourcing that provides value for money, in a transparent and accountable manner while minimising risk to the Company and impact to the environment, maintaining both fairness to vendors and the highest ethical standards. We expect our suppliers to maintain this commitment.

Supplier Code of Ethics

We expect all suppliers and contractors to comply with laws and guidelines regarding anti- bribery, corruption, money-laundering, and fraud. We also expect safety leadership and accountability.

Paria expects its suppliers and contractors to:

  • comply with laws, rules and regulations applicable to our business;
  • comply with contractual obligations and perform activities balancing economic growth, social development, environmental protection, and sustainability;
  • avoid any conflict of interest, being sure to disclose or declare as appropriate;
  • not offer, pay, directly or indirectly, any bribe or engage in any corrupt practice;
  • respect the Company’s Gift and Entertainment policy regarding declaration and / or non-acceptance of gifts;
  • refrain from anti-competitive behaviour, such as collusion against the company, whilst being supportive of enforceable trade restrictions, export controls and boycott laws;
  • report without fear of retaliation, any wrongdoing or misconduct which is suspected or believed to be occurring;
  • promote a safe, secure, healthy and productive workplace and work environment;
  • apply continuous efforts to improve safety, security, health and environmental performance and foster appropriate operating practices and training;
  • conduct operations and business practices in a manner consistent with the human rights and workplace rights including fair treatment, privacy, and confidentiality; free from harassment, intimidation or retaliation;
  • ensure safe performance and quality delivery from competent, experienced, and certified supervisors and personnel;
  • promote ethical conduct with own employees, suppliers, vendors and contractors.
