Throughout his career, he has combined clinical expertise with proven leadership, successfully managing pharmacies and healthcare services while contributing to the development of both the healthcare and energy sectors.

His professional journey began in pharmacy management, where he served as the Managing Director of Pharmakon Drugs Ltd. and Iere Drugs Ltd., and later as Manager of Valini’s Drug Mart. In these roles, he was responsible not only for day-to-day operations but also for strategic planning, staff development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to communities. In 2021, he was appointed Senior Pharmacist at St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital, where he oversaw clinical pharmacy services in a specialized healthcare environment. He also gained valuable experience through a six-month contract with the South-West Regional Health Authority at Area Hospital, Point Fortin, broadening his scope of practice within the public healthcare system. These experiences have strengthened his ability to balance patient-centered care with administrative and managerial responsibilities.

In addition to his accomplishments in the healthcare sector, Mr. Maharaj has made significant contributions to the energy industry in Trinidad and Tobago. As Project Coordinator for Offshore Technologies Solutions Ltd. and Coastal Divers Ltd., he was entrusted with coordinating large-scale projects of national importance. His work included managing the successful repair of a 24-inch pipeline in Mayaro—where a cofferdam was constructed and a damaged section was replaced with a spool piece—as well as coordinating Petrotrin’s 2007 offshore inspection campaign. That campaign involved comprehensive surveys, including Anodic and Cathodic protection surveys, flooded member inspections, debris removal, and marine growth assessments. These projects demanded meticulous planning, team coordination, and adherence to strict safety and regulatory standards, demonstrating his versatility and leadership beyond the healthcare field.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Maharaj is also an accomplished musician who actively contributes to the cultural life of Trinidad and Tobago. Based in San Fernando, he regularly participates in musical and theatrical productions that extend from his local community to stages across the nation.
