Paria Fuel Trading Company Limited (PARIA) celebrates the outstanding achievements of students in the Sustainable Stock Market Game (SSMG), a program that’s sparking a passion for finance across the Caribbean. In cycle 7, students from Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana displayed remarkable skill, landing among the top 150 out of 7,797 participants. Their impressive 202,000 trades, with 183,000 profitable, demonstrate a deep understanding of financial markets and strategic thinking. This competition has set a high bar for financial literacy and academic excellence.

This year’s awards ceremony theme focused on “Championing Success: Artificial Intelligence in Education and Cross-Border Excellence.”

Each student received USD 25,000.00 virtual money to budget, save and invest on the Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, Guyana and US stock exchanges using generative AI. Among the standout performers were PARIA sponsored students from La Romaine Secondary School and Marabella South Secondary School, who secured impressive financial returns through their strategic trading:

In recognition of their exceptional achievements, we will be awarding bank accounts to the top 20 students in the Sustainable Stock Market Game Cycle 7 and the top 5 students from Marabella South Secondary School.

This initiative addresses the need for secondary school students to be financially prepared as they transition into the workforce, as emphasized by the Minister of Education Trinidad and Tobago.

Furthermore, to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience, Paria is thrilled to offer internships in our commercial department to outstanding Paria sponsored students. This unique opportunity will allow students to apply their newfound skills in a real-world setting, bridging the gap between education and industry experience for future success in the industry.

Based on the KPI impact report from WizdomCRM, data highlights that 70% of students expressed interest in receiving private tutoring from an animated AI Tutor. In response, we are entering into a tri-partite agreement to roll out the WizdomCRM AI Tutor Platform in Marabella South Secondary School, La Romaine Secondary School, and Pleasantville Secondary School. This marks a significant step forward in our shared commitment to education and youth economic empowerment.
